THANK YOU

THANK YOU

One of our students received a scholarship from Point Roberts Dollars for Scholars for this year but did not attend the full year.  We owe you a refund check for the remainder, but our new accounting system now requires a W-9 before we can process the check.I couldn't find anything in our files for you, and am hoping you might able to email me a copy? I have attached a blank W9 for your use if needed.

Thank you so much for this gift, I am very appreciative. It makes me so happy to know how
many people in our community value the importance of higher education. I will keep working
hard to achieve my goals and will never forget your kind actions that helped me get to where I
am today.

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for awarding me the scholarship to continue my journey as a student athlete at Washington State University. Words cannot adequately express how grateful I am for your support.
Beyond the financial assistance, I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement I have received from the Point Roberts community. Your cheers from the sidelines, messages of encouragement, and the sense of community have had a profound impact on my journey. Knowing that I have a community backing me up has made all the difference, especially during challenging times.
I am excited to represent Point Roberts as I continue my studies at Washington State University. I will carry the values of hard work, determination, and community with me as I strive for success on and off the field. It is my hope that, one day, I can give back to the community and inspire others, just as you have inspired me.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and support. I am eternally grateful for this incredible opportunity and I promise to make the most of it and continue to work diligently to achieve my goals.
Your belief in me has given me renewed motivation to push my limits and reach for the stars.

I would like to take the time to thank you all for your generosity and kindness in helping the students of the Point Roberts community. This money is a huge help to my siblings and I and we could not be more grateful! My education is extremely important to me and I have enjoyed the past years that I have had the privilege of attending UBC Okanagan. I am extremely excited for my future and again would like to thank all of the donators and sponsors of the award.
Thank you so incredibly much!

Thank you so much for awarding me with the continuing education scholarship. I really appreciate this support! This will allow me to continue my education in my pre law studies as I hope to pursue Environmental and Animal Rights Law in the future. I am entering my fourth year of university at Queen's University and being able to study international law this past year has really contributed to my knowledge within this field and inspires me to continue my studies. I am happy to be a part of the Point Roberts community and to be able to spend the summer and holidays here.

A few years ago I expressed my gratitude to everyone in the community for their ongoing support
and for giving us a safe community to grow up in. This year, I want to express how grateful I am once
again, for everyone who has had faith in not only me but to all the other students that grew up in the
Point. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through all the changes I've had and stuck by me
during the harder times. No matter where life takes me I know I'll always have the support from everyone
back home. Many of us wouldn't have all the opportunities we have without the support of Dollars for
Scholars, so once again thank you for everything you have given us growing up so we could be the people
we are today.

Hey there, Thank you guys so much for awarding me this scholarship to aid in my pursuit of higher education!

Josh

It is a great honor to receive the Point Roberts Dollars For
Scholars award. This scholarship will help me complete my bachelor's
degree in Human Geography and Business Administration at Simon
Fraser University. I am so grateful for your support, and I would like to
formally thank your organization.
In the upcoming Fall 2023 semester, I will be participating in
a program sponsored by the United Nations in which
undergraduate students work to solve an attainable local issue
related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Point
Roberts Dollars for Scholars award will allow me to join this
program in concurrence with my heavy fourth-year course load.
Receiving this scholarship will greatly reduce the financial
stress of continuing my post-secondary education. Thank you again
for your generous offer; I appreciate this award tremendously.

Thank you for the gracious donation to Dollars for Scholars 2023. I am very grateful for the support to further my education to become a Special Education teacher. I will continue attending Whatcom Community College until March 2024 and will then graduate with my associates degree. I will then transfer to Western Washington University to further my degree and finish my bachelor's. I appreciate the support for my education.

Grace Hettinga

Thank you for the scholarship. This will help me further my education pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at Montana Technological University. I appreciate the donations the community has made to the foundation.

I am very grateful to all the individuals who have made this scholarship possible and to those in our community who have generously donated to the Point Roberts Dollars for Scholars Foundation. This scholarship has been and will continue to be instrumental in helping to fuel the post secondary aspirations of myself and the other graduates in our community, and for that - I am very thankful.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donations and support of young members in the Point Roberts community like myself. Through your generosity, I'm able to pursue my passion for baseball and a degree in engineering at the University of British Columbia. After living in Point Roberts my entire life, I could not imagine a better place to have grown up - it's beautiful, peaceful, and full of amazing people. Thank you once again for supporting my education, I am truly grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

Ryan Heppner

I would like to thank the community of Point Roberts for supporting local students like myself. My family and I have been residents of Point Roberts since 2014.
I am entering my fourth year at the University of Western Ontario and enrolled in the Honours Business Administration program at the Ivey Business School. I also worked at In Out Parcel; a local package facility in the summer of 2022 and plan to spend this summer recruiting for next year and studying for extra credentials. I love coming back to Point Roberts during my summers off from school. You can sometimes find me sitting in a car at Lighthouse Park enjoying the view and studying! These scholarships have helped me a lot and I am thankful for being part of this wonderful community.

Thank you kindly to the Point Roberts community for contributing and making the Dollars For Scholars program possible. This scholarship allows me and my peers from the Point to pursue our academic ambitions, while assisting with the financial burden that can come with it. The opportunity to attend university has great effect on our lives and careers, and the help the scholarship provides is an important part of that. Thank you once again for your continued support, and we look forward to helping future kids pursue their academic goals aswell!

Jack Nielson

Thank you for your generous support. This scholarship will has allowed me to finish my master's degree in bilingual and dual language education at San Diego State University.  This graduate program has been a life- changing experience for me and I look forward to applying my knowledge and expertise in my career as a bilingual educator in urban public schools.
I want to thank the Dollars for Scholars committee and scholarship donors for always encouraging Point Roberts residents to pursue an education and make an impact in their community.

The local Dollars for Scholars chapter granted me a scholarship for the first time in 2019 and has continued to contribute toward my tuition yearly throughout the economic fluctuations and uncertainties of the past four years. Higher education varies in length and is rarely shorter than two years, yet there are few scholarships that one can receive on an annual basis. Point Roberts Dollars for Scholars is one such program, however, and I am very grateful to everyone who has donated funds or time to support local students such as myself throughout their academic journeys.
